Room 317, Saturday morning

Claudia, not really down with the whole getting up in the morning thing, forestalled the whole issue by lazily rolling over without opening her eyes.

Only to discover that, instead of her queen-sized bed from home, she'd been sleeping on the crappy, twin-sized bed in her old dorm room. And wind up on the floor.

Right. Reunion. At least she wasn't switching bodies with someone. That had been one of Pete's favorite stories to tell for ages.

Well, she supposed she could do worse than Fandom for her vacation from the Warehouse. She could be stuck in northern Nunavut, again.

[ooc: open, should anyone else possibly be up. I caaaaaan't sleeeeeeeeeep.]

"M'bladder's going to explode," came a very sleepy whine from the other bed. Quinn was at the reunion with Puck, of course, but for the sake of nostalgia -- and because Quinn hadn't really been sleeping well lately, so a night in a bed that was all her own sounded like bliss -- they'd split up for the night. "Is it morning?"

[SP = win on weekends?]

"How did we live without one?" Quinn groused, starting the very slow process of rolling over and out of bed. "We were -- oof -- younger. And more flexible. And you have to tell me what moisturizer you use."

"Your skin," Quinn explained. "Don't lie and tell me you just have good genes. You look amazing."

She was finally standing, and looked ... not bad, for almost 37 and very pregnant, but definitely older than Claudia.

Secret ancient recipe. So -- that meant even Claudia had gone in for Botox. Quinn would have to bite the bullet and do that during her maternity leave.

"I know," she said, letting it drop for the moment. "I think this one is going to be a football player. I feel like an elephant and I still have a couple months to go."

"Not cooperating during the ultrasound," Quinn said, sounding disappointed. "I think Puck wants a boy, but Beth and I have been hoping for another girl. Are you thinking about trying yourself, or is that too rude a question?"

"Sorry," Quinn said, a bit more subdued. She would say 'at least you have your career,' but that would sound mocking given the IRS depot thing. "At least we have lots of other options, right? I'm sure I could keep busy even without children."

"That's one of the nice things about being a real estate agent," Quinn said, with satisfaction. "I work on my own most of the time, so the only idiots I have to deal with are the ones who want to buy houses."

"But they give me money, and the more annoying they were, the more justified I feel in spending it," Quinn said. "So that's the fun part."

"I like to think so," Quinn allowed, preening just a little. "And you seem happy, too. Do you ever get to weld things these days?"

[identity profile] chief-cheerio.livejournal.com 2011-04-03 02:09 am (UTC)(link)
"That's fantastic," Quinn said brightly. Different strokes for different folks, right? "... I didn't know the IRS did a lot of welding."

[identity profile] chief-cheerio.livejournal.com 2011-04-03 02:22 am (UTC)(link)
"Oh." That didn't actually make sense to Quinn, and her oh hung awkwardly in the air as she tried to decide if she wanted to look stupid by asking more questions.

She must have decided not to.

"You're coming to the mixer tonight, right?"

[identity profile] chief-cheerio.livejournal.com 2011-04-03 02:38 am (UTC)(link)
"Which I'm sure my husband will enjoy," Quinn said, but lightly -- it wasn't like either of them was going to have to drive. "The whole thing should be fun. Like prom for old people."

[identity profile] chief-cheerio.livejournal.com 2011-04-03 03:17 am (UTC)(link)
Oh, of course she didn't.

"I just really wanted to be prom queen," Quinn said. "My mom was queen of every dance and it rubbed off. Besides, prom was fun."

"Thanks for reminding me I have to avoid that, too," Quinn grumbled. "Maybe they'll have the good kind of seltzer."

"There's one brand with more bubbles," Quinn explained, in the tone of one used to not being believed on this point. "With extra lime it almost tastes like you're drinking something real."
