Pinkie had decided to go for a walk around some of the lesser visited parts of the island before her hat class. Ponyville wasn't anywhere near a beach, rocky or otherwise, so getting to visit one was quite a treat. And the rocks reminded her a bit of home. She oohed and ahed over a particularly interesting bit of sea glass, then turned to offer a cheerful greeting to a hermit crab.
